If you're patient, you can usually find one for sale on this page.  We didn't much care for the R-dome on our 2015 179, so sold it here for $300.  It was a good deal for me and a good one for the buyer.  They get snapped up pretty fast.  Mine sold on the same day it was posted here.

I've seen the stained Rdomes from several people who received them.  It's not just a story, that bad run of waterproofing is probably part of the issue for the backorders.

Dometic had a bad run of domes where the waterproofing was bad and stained a bunch of them and they had to be replaced, and then they are also just as you've been told backordered.  It's been that way for the past few months.  Even Forest River doesn't have them readily available.

Yes, I called around to get one & found a shortage.
