we tow with a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe also rated at 5,000 lbs and have no problems at all. HI J and P we have the Toyota FJ Cruiser. It is also rated at 5000lb towing. You will have no problems with your highlander at all. The only time we notice the pod is behind us is when a dump truck is passing us.   18 wheelers, buses no problem passing us or meeting us. Hi Folks  we tow our pod with a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan with the  3.6L 283 horse power engine. We have towed from Vermont's mountains to the Florida Keys and through the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania. We started with a 171 for 5 years and recently moved up to a 179. Our van gets 13.5-14.5 in Vermont and then 14.5-16.5 once we hit Massachusetts and below. We usually will tow at 55-65 on the interstate.
