We're heading back to the Cincy area the first two weeks of August to help our son celebrate his 30th birthday...otherwise I'd travel to Ouray and buy you a cup of coffee--(or stronger!). There will be 6-7 Jeeps in our group. I hope the pass will be open then. Steve, we do off-roading with the Cherokee Trailhawk. We tried Tincup Pass a couple of weeks ago but got stopped by four feet of snow over the road about 2 miles outside of St. Elmo. I thought it would be melted by now, but while having dinner with friends this past Sunday, my buddy showed me what was left of his ATV after trying to get up Tincup Pass that afternoon. He's OK, physically, but spending some time in the doghouse after his wife told him not to try that stretch of snow covered road. He did...and the ATV went tumbling off the side of the road--major damage. Here's the kicker: He removed the insurance on the machine last week! Hi Steve, We're staying in a vacation rental on CR292. Probably really close to you. Going Jeeping with some friends who go there every year and rent a place. We are going to Ouray first. We've been there several times and love it. We've only passed through Buena Vista - never spent any time before this. Really looking forward to exploring the area.
I see you have a Trailhawk - do you offroad it at all?

Steve: Where will you be staying? If it's without the Pod, I'll assume you're staying at the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort in Chalk Creek Canyon. We live about a mile from the resort in the canyon. This is the second time in a week that a Podder (Hairy Podders) has mentioned Nathop...a town that no one has heard of outside of Chaffee County.

I work in nearby Buena Vista and saw a Pod in town today parked alongside the road. I tried to say Hi, but no one was around. I've only seen three Pods up here so far this summer.

But be careful! We started camping up here every year about 20 years ago...now we live here! It's a beautiful place that is about as "non-Aspen" as you can get.

We are selling the R-Dome that came with our 2015 179. We set it up for the first time this past weekend and it was only up for two days. We didn't really care for it. We really prefer an awning and are willing to wait until someone develops one for the Pod.
