First road test, well kinda : We picked up our new RP177 a month...

    Author: trypod
Subject: 4923
Posted: 03 Jul 2014 at 12:53am

We picked up our new RP177 a month ago, but have been too busy to use it. With a 4 day trip planned for the fourth of july, we thought we'd better do a little overnight testing. We took it to the beach house and setup. Struggled a little running the RDome through the track, but now that the high spots in the plastic is worn down, it should be easier going forward. Started going through all the Pod Mods on pinterest to see what we wanted to do. Since we are planning a 6 week 7000 mile trip beginning in mid-August, these early shake-downs are critical. measured evey nook and crannie, and will begin filling any hollow spots with plastic bins. I purchased a great hanging organizer for over the inside of the bathroom door that hooks at both the top and bottom securely it holds a lot including extra rolls of toilet paper. Also picked up a rolling plastic bin of drawers. When we're traveling, it is secured with strap on the toilet, when we're stopped it comes out and can be rolled anywhere. Since a lot of our camping will be at state parks with no or limited hookups, the bathroom probably will be used more for storage and the public rest rooms and showers will be frequented regularly. Square bins will stack neatly on shower floor.

I hope we get to meet up with seasoned RPodders to see some mods in use. Today the jouney begins to our first officual camping test with the new Pod.

Happy Fourth of July to everyone.
