It sounds like you are talking about the riser devices under the bed. They are called gas props, gas springs, or gas struts. RV Designer carries these and has a good selector chart:

Camping World and Amazon usually carry a selection. If you do have to replace the originals this is an opportunity to upgrade to higher force units if you have added heavy bedding such as a topper. However, you may also have to beef up the mounting points for the stronger struts. The stronger struts can split the wood where they are attached.

Have not heard of that happening yet. My answer is usually take a hammer to it, but that usually cost more in the long run. I would call the dealer or if you got it on a private sale given Doug at Mekelsen's rv a call. He is a tech man there and fellow r-pod own.
