Author: Kickstart
Subject: 4591
Posted: 12 Apr 2014 at 9:19pm

Well, the wife got her way. Our RP175 is being replaced with a 2014 Kodiak 173QBSL. At 20'plus with a wider living area, it's big enough to satisfy her and small enough that it should tow well with the Tundra--damn it I gotta haul out the add on towing mirrors again. Dry weight is about the same as our Pod's wet weight @ 3300 lb. or so.

Some of the Kodiak's features: electric awning, full aluminum frame, full sized queen, dry bath, sealed undercarriage, spiffy frameless windows, outside propane stove hookup, and dual axles but no Dometic products (last two are preferences of mine).

If I hadda say, I think the interior Pod build quality is a scosche better, but the Kodiak is an Express model, which is their lower end line. Gonna miss the heck out of the Pod, and It will take me awhile to get accustomed again to towing even this much bigger of a rig. RIP Pod ownership!
