Another New Podder from Pa. : Hello, John & Kathy here...

    Author: JKPOD
Subject: 4301
Posted: 02 Jan 2014 at 9:59pm

Hello,
John & Kathy here from Southwest Pa. We are for sure newbies. We bought a new RP-172 from Butler RV sales and are very excited to try it out come spring. In the past 2 years we bought and sold a Scotty Highlander, then restored a 1969 play-Mor camper(dam near killed me)..then sold that, then bought and sold a Aliner Classic trailer(used). When we saw this 172 with the two bunkbeds and a bathroom... we knew we had to buy one. As said, we have some experience with trailers, but never with something this nice. I was a bit overwhelmed with all the devices, controls, and plumbing that come with the unit. I am a bit dissappointed with the manual(s). Just like the Aliner, the manual is too generic and not detailed enough for a newbie. The dealer tech was very informative, but I'll never remember everything he showed me. If you have any specific newbie instructions I would very much like to read it. My camper was winterized by the dealer before winter with all lines containing the red antifreeze. Come April I plan on calling the dealer and get the tech on the phone and have him walk me thru the de-winterizing procedure. We will be towing with a 2007 F-150 with the 4.6 V8. Any advise will be greatly appreciated!

   John & Kathy M.
