Moving up to the r-pod was in many ways luxury and comfort. And the mattress that came with the r-pod was soon replaced; the sleeping bag on the the ground was more comfortable for me. Those springs and the noise was not very comfortable for me. I think most have replaced the old mattress or covered it up with a topper of some kind. David

You will of course have to store it somewhere when using the dinette as a dinette.. I did not think it was that bad when I slept on it, but 20 years in the Army, sleeping on/in tanks, has me conditioned to a "hey it ain't hard as steel, and I can lay out straight.. it's golden" mentality about mattresses.
