We have an old stove-top toaster that is a perforated metal circle with collapsible wires to hold the bread or other item. The problem is that if we use it, the smoke detector will go off. Unfortunately, our R-Pod lacks a vent hood to take care of this. So, how does one make toast and save his/her hearing? (This is when AC is not available to power an electric toaster). ]]>

The diffuser worked like a charm, providing very even heat and slowing the cooking process. No more burned corn cakes for us!]]>
