Fish Fry : Donna and I and our son Dean caught...

    Author: dsmiths
Subject: 4036
Posted: 29 Sep 2013 at 2:20pm

Donna and I and our son Dean caught 72 Red Ear and Blue Gill this spring at Hoosier National Forest. they were from 8 to 11 inches, Most were caught from the bank, as I have to leave the Bass boat home when pulling the pod. We had the Kids out last week end for a Wild Game cook out. Fried Fish, Wild Turkey breast fried bites, Fried and then steamed squirrel, fresh tomato, onion, green peppers and Blue Lake bush beans all from the garden. Its a lot of work to catch and prepare a good cook out, but its well worth it. I also have been making 5 gallon batches of Ale. We have a local specialty shop that sells fresh hops, grains, Malt extract etc. We had cold Golden Light ale with the cook out. The Turkey bites were gone in a flash. Looking forward to working on next years cookout, maybe some grilled venison back strip medallions.
