Camping Resort</U> (Vineland)<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p></strong></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P><P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt" =Ms&#111;normal><SPAN style="mso-ansi-: EN-US" lang=EN-US><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>My wife and I took the R-Pod down to southern Ontario for the purpose of taking in some performances at the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake and to explore some of the wineries in the area. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp;</SPAN>We were not planning on visiting Niagara Falls and did not have any children/youth with us so had no need for activities.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Only a nice quiet place to rest after touring.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN><o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P><P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt" =Ms&#111;normal><SPAN style="mso-ansi-: EN-US" lang=EN-US><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>N.E.T. Camping Resort is located about 5 minutes outside Vineland and 45 minutes from Niagara-on-the-Lake.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>It has 308 fully serviced sites (EWS) but the majority are seasonal sites.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>The Resort is a Good Sam member park (Facilities 9.5; Restrooms 9.0; Appeal 9.0).<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P><P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt" =Ms&#111;normal><SPAN style="mso-ansi-: EN-US" lang=EN-US><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>As we were camping out-of-season the park was very quiet but with a splash pad, 2 pools, and a lake with paddle boats, one could imagine that there is more activity in the peak of summer. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp;&nbsp;</SPAN>A number of new trees have been planted to provide more shade.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Unfortunately, while we were there it rained all day but the campsite drained well (site 200).<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P><P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt" =Ms&#111;normal><SPAN style="mso-ansi-: EN-US" lang=EN-US><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>The Wine Route passes through Vineland and Vineland Estates is a particularly scenic winery with a patio and restaurant overlooking the vineyard.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Fresh local fruit and vegetables are readily available at roadside stalls and would enhance any meal at your campsite. <o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P><P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt" =Ms&#111;normal><SPAN style="mso-ansi-: EN-US" lang=EN-US><FONT size=3><FONT face=Calibri>Normally we would stay at Provincial Parks but the closest ones are along Lake Erie (Rock Point, Selkirk, and Turkey Point) and are at least 1 ½ hours away from Niagara-on-the-Lake. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp;</SPAN>Too far to travel after an evening show.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>&#091;NOTE:<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Selkirk closes following Labour Day while Rock Point and Turkey Point close following Canadian Thanksgiving/Columbus Day.&#093;</P><DIV></DIV><DIV></DIV><DIV><o:p>&#091;PHOTO: Our campsite #200&#093;</o:p></DIV><DIV><o:p><img src="http://www.rpod-owners.com/uploads/1976/Vineland_1.jpg" height="637" width="960" border="0" /></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></DIV>]]>
