Not sure I've ever heard that one before. All I can say is that I've run our fan on the low setting every night that we've used the AC for 3 years now, never had any issue. Kentucky is a nasty wet humid hot mess.

Our dealer told us to keep the A/C on high or auto settings. They said that the low setting would eventually cause the system to freeze. Thanks for all the helpful hints - but have tried all the suggestions. Earplugs fall out, humming still comes through the walls, grandkids stayed on third trip. Even my husbands LOUD snoring didn't help the A/C noise. I've been told I have extra sensitive hearing. Living in Oregon, we don't use the A/C often, but it's nice to have when we do need it. How about sleeping with ear plugs. If the AC is too noisy when you sleep trying keeping the fan setting at Low or Hi when you sleep. I agree that the AC is quite noisy. You do get used to it. It's amazing how quiet it is from the outside. Maybe they put them in backwards. Smile
