They are different. The owners of this one have traveled all over the U.S. with it. I had never seen one before. I'm curious to see them close it up for travel. Sorry you won't join us at Seaside. Maybe next year. Will now know who to ask when we are going to travel in Wash. state again. Thank you both so much for your responses and suggestions!! Both are extremely helpful and appreciated. Now that our boys are on their own, we will probably do more early spring and late fall camping as well - no longer need to worry about the school schedule! We had already made plans for August so cannot make the Rally this year - but will keep our schedule open in case one is planned for 2014.

I live on the peninsula and have camped here since the 50's, so I can help you out--at least with the public campgrounds. So here goes.
 
County Parks:
   Salt Creek--west of Port Angeles, full hook ups, great views of the straight
    Dungeness Spit- east of Pt. Angeles, dry camp, great beach walk
 
State Parks:
   Seabeck-dry camp, nice park
   Ft. Warden-at Pt. Townsend, full hook ups, great water views
   Ft. Flagler-neat P.T., full hook ups, beach sites
   Grayland Beach-near Westport-nice park, full hook ups
   Cape Disappointment- near Astoria, full h/ups, old park but OK, great interp center
 
Olympic Nat Park (all Dry camp & old, but nice settings):
   Heart of the Hills- near Pt. Angeles, good hiking
   Sol Duc Hot Springs-West of P. A., good hiking, yes, you can soak!
   Mora-near Forks, poor campground, beach beauty rivals Oregon coast
   Kalaloch-mid coast, get the right site and beach nirvana, great beach trails
 
There are tons of other nice sites out here, but most places are tough to get a good site during the tourist season (we do lots of spring and fall stuff). Also, I highly recommend a "Camping Washington " book by Judd or Giordano,available from Amazon. Great books for camping our state. The hardbound is much more handy than the Kindle version.

P.S. If you look under the topic heading of Events and Campouts and scroll down to Pacific N.W. Roundup. You'll find a Roundup scheduled in August in Seaside OR. We currently have 22 Rpods and 13 other Forest River products registered with 74 people coming. Although the full hookups are sold out there is still dry camping available. Clean bathrooms and dump station are included. Love to have you join us and see all the other Rpods and how they have personalized them. We had a wonderful site at Pt. Hudson Marina in Port Townsend. Must register in advance as they sell out quickly. We are currently at Elwha Dam in Port Angeles. Full hookups in both campgrounds. Earlier in the year we were at Mossy Rock. Currently we are at Port Angeles. We just spent a wonderful week looking at the sound at Port Townsend. Adjacent to us is a Canadian built Alto modified teardrop trailer. Most amazing. The trailing end of the camper travels lowered, and when arriving at a site it is raised by an electric motor for full height in the interior. They are 17' in length and weigh about 1700 lbs. empty. Google Alto RV's and check out the Alto. Safe Travels.
