I have two tanks. The new one that came with the Pod and and one that I have traded a couple of times. It depends which is cheaper. There is a local store that puts trade ins on sale for $10. When they do I trade my older one. The new one I get filled at costco for $11. I take both tanks with me but I do not have a dual tank rig so I have to physically change over tanks.

The 30 pound tank will fit in the holder without problem. You may have to replace the tiedown strap with a longer one, tho. And, of course, the tank cover (if your dealer provided one) will have to be replaced.

When you say 'old one', don't forget that a tank is only certified for 10 years of use. It is possible to get it recertified for another 5 years beyond that, but the cost is well on the way to purchasing a new tank.
