Twist the black locking ring counterclockwise until it is loose. It may take some muscle. Then twist the connect (attached to the cord) one quarter turn counterclockwise and pull out. The cable should come loose in your hand.<br>]]>

It is the same type of connector used on 30 amp shore power for boats. &nbsp;I am guessing that Forest River uses is because it is a waterproof locking connector. I know that Marinco for instance makes this type receptacle &nbsp;for both boats and RVs.&nbsp;]]>

No need to fix what ain't broke. <br><br>I recently helped a buddy convert from a stowable cord to detachable, the socket and ends were "marine". His stowable cord was ALWAYS getting tangled or hung up in it's little storage area under the kitchen cabinets, it was so bad he had added a hinged door inside to be able reach in..&nbsp;]]>
