    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=422" rel="nofollow">TIDALWAVE</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 3389<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 17 Aug 2013 at 11:11am<br /><br />I used 'regular-ethanol' gas for my ATV, boat motors, etc., until they all had to go into the shop for 'carb-adjustment' cleaning.&nbsp; Every mechanic told me that a majority of gas line problems they worked on were directly caused by using ethanol.&nbsp; I immediately began to use non-ethanol...all of my engines start quickly and I have never had a fuel line problem since then.&nbsp; The $500 in repair/cleaning would have paid for a lot of 'hi-cost' non-ethanol gas.<br>I have found that a couple of my cars do not seem to get much better mileage from non-ethanol. But my TV pickup does. So when I tow my Pod, I use my calculator to determine if buying the more expensive non-ethanol is worth getting better mileage. <br>]]>

From my understanding ethanol is hydrophilic which means that it attracts moisture and will result in water forming in the gas tanks.<div><br></div><div>Seafoam or other fuel treatments may help with this but try to buy the real stuff if it is available when buying fuel for your boat.</div>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=422" rel="nofollow">TIDALWAVE</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 3389<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 12 Apr 2013 at 11:09am<br /><br />About a quarter of the gas stations here in Central Mn carry hi-octane (90) ethanol-free gasoline.<br>It is used for "non-automobile" uses such as high-compression autos,&nbsp; ATVs, outboards, lawn equipment, etc. It generally costs about 10% more than 10-15% ethanol gas.&nbsp; So do an experiment...let your tow vehicle get low on fuel and fill up totally with the non-ethanol gas and record your odometer setting.&nbsp; Record the mileage when you are again nearly empty and refill with standard ethanol gas.&nbsp; Repeat and check your mpg...if you get a higher mpg percentage using non-ethanol than the higher percentage gas price, it is more economical to fill with the non-ethanol gas.<br>]]>
