We did the same as Paige, but without the door. Stow wet or sandy footgear on site, tools or chocks or pads when traveling. Divider makes a handy extra storage space that is out of the way.

I split the storage space under the dinette bench half built-in cooler the other half storage which is accessible from the top or the front.
