Geelse, message me if you would like info on Utah.  I know the state, camping areas and back roads fairly well.  Thompson Springs is an interesting town particularly if interested in Wild West lore. Thompson Springs was very outlaw friendly back in the days with many notable outlaws seeking shelter, a throw in the hay and then some fresh horses.  Moab, UT is just south of Thompson (60 minutes pulling the Pod).  If you have never been to Moab, spend an extra day, two or five! Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are outside of Moab. Goblin Valley area, Capitol Reef and so on and so forth, all awesome.

Depends on where you are in CO. From Denver to Grand Junction it is quite mountainous with high passes. It is a good road, beautiful and easy to drive with the Rpod, but your mpg will drop with the grades. Lots to see and do along this road if you are interested. Glenwood Springs has great mountain biking and hiking, Vail, Grand Junction, don't miss a drive through the Colorado National Monument. Lots of interesting towns and stops. I've done I-70 though the state several times into Utah on the way to various National Parks, but most often get off at Copper Mountain and head to Leadville for my yearly Colorado Camping. In Utah there are some wonderful pictographs and petroglyphs a few miles north of the Thompson Springs exit.
