Try the koa-Monterey/Santa Cruz. Close enough to cover all Monterey Bay area in day trips. Hwy 1 from Monterey to south of Big Sur like San Simeon is hills, turns, curves, up and down, so go SLOW and enjoy the sights, WOW. Hearst Castle (San Simeon) is fun visit, There is San Simeon camp ground (state park/beach) but dry camping, they do have water, flush toilets.Outside of Monterey just off hwy 1 a ways is Laguna Seca Campground, its county but nice park with water and electricity. Number for reservations is 888-588-2267. Good Luck]]>
