    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=1653" rel="nofollow">Tars Tarkas</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 3182<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 19 Feb 2013 at 7:59am<br /><br />Our TV is a 2010 FJ Cruiser.&nbsp; I'm not sure but we may have the same engine.&nbsp; I think you might have a little more towing power.&nbsp; The FJ does fine even in the Smoky Mountains.&nbsp; You definitely know the trailer is there and you slow down going up a long hill.&nbsp; The RPMs are always higher, of course, than without the trailer, and the MPGs are about half. I love the FJ but when the rpod (a 176) is hooked up there are plenty of times I wish it had a V8.<br><br>TT<br>]]>

We also had a Reese trunnion-style weight distributing hitch and sway control. The non-Hybrid Highlander has more towing capacity and I know others on this forum use similar (and some use smaller!) vehicles.</div><div><br></div><div>I certainly don't blame the HiHy, but we had an accident while towing with ours (search the forums if you want the full story). &nbsp;Since the accident, we upgraded our TV to a large GMC and the difference is remarkable. Our new TV is probably a bit overkill for the R-Pod, but we feel really safe in it and are glad we made the switch.</div>]]>
