Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.  It's also good to know there are other podders in the Northwest.  The gathering at Seaside, OR on Aug. 15 - 18 sounds like a great plan and we hope we can make it.
 
PS   We have dogs and we noticed that 4 of the 5 responders have dogs (not sure about Doug?).   It would be interesting to know how many podders travel with dogs, cats or some other pet if surveys of members are done in the future.

Welcome and congratulations.  We are in Oregon and had a Rpod roundup this past Sept.  Had a ball at Seaside Oregon.  We are again having another at Seaside, OR on August 15-18th, 2013.  Come join us and meet some other podders.  We took delivery of ours this past June and have taken 6 trips for a total of about 6K miles.  All worked as advertised.  Should be an easy pull down I-5 to Seaside.  Lots to see and do there as well as a terrific maritime museum 15 miles north in Astoria.  Also for the shoppers, a group of outlet stores mighty close.  Hope you will join us in Aug. 2013.  The campground is Circle Creek RV Park and when it opens next March, tell them your with the Rpod group for a discount on your stay.  Safe Travels.]]> Sat, 22 Dec 2012 08:50:22 +0000 http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=3151&PID=29915#29915 New Kids on the Block : Welcome. Welcome.  Yes, as others have confirmed, you will be giving lots of tours and answering questions.  Ours was the first in MD and we quickly began making informal bets on how long it would take after setup before someone stopped by to chat.  Sometimes they beat us to it and stopped by during setup.

Hopefully the "manual" thread is helpful.  I apologize for its unfinished state and is really a work in progress.

Welcome from a fellow Washingtonian, now living in Open Sores (Ocean Shores). We'll have had our Pod 3 years this spring, and still love it. I do think that if the 177 was being built when we purchased, then we would have bought it rather than our RP175. The 177 just looks to be a little more practical.
 If you're not an experienced camper in this state, "Camping Washington" by Ron C. Judd published by the Mountaineers is a great asset for finding/choosing places to camp. My wife and I have camped this state for 48 years and use this book all of the time. It's available on Amazon.
 
Hope you like your pod as much as we like ours, and we sure are lucky to live in this state with so many camping opportunities available to us.

We get lots of thumbs-up at stoplights- not so much campground action yet, but we gravitate to spacious,
kind of private sites in the Florida State Park system.  (We did have one lady walk into our site and tell us
how much she liked "our rig".)


We travel with two Cocker Spaniels who love to hang out in the R-Dome.

Welcome to the forum.  We've had our pod for about 4 months now and love it.  I know what you mean about people at stop lights.  Wait till you get to a camp ground.  It'll be non-stop people wanting to get a look inside.  I'm now saying "sure, come on over take a look and bring me a beer, please."  I don't have to buy much beer anymore.

Hello,
 
We've just picked up our R-Pod 177 about a week ago and are anxious to try it out on the road.  (We did show it last night to our son and his girlfriend and all sat at the table with glasses of wine and that was fun too, but not quite the same!)   When we do hit the road, our two dogs, Mindy and Murphy - 11 pound Havanese 7 year olds - will join us for the adventures. 
 
Others may have had similar experiences to the one that we had the first day we drove the R-Pod home.  A guy in a Jeep wagon passed us and gave us a big smile and a waive.  Then he slowed down and let us pass so he could take a picture with his cell phone.  Then he pulled up to us, rolled his window down, and said "That looks really light!".   Finally at the next intersection, he stopped at a red light, got out of his vehicle and took one more picture before waiving and giving us a final big grin.  We can only imagine his wife got a sales pitch that night that they needed to check out the R-Pod for themselves!
 
We want to thank everyone who has contributed to this forum as we feel we have learned quite a bit already that will reduce our over all learning curve.  This included printing off the seven page instruction and maintanence manual that you have put together.
 
If there are other northwesterns who ever get together at parks in WA or OR, please let us know as that sounds like it could be great fun.
