We are getting ready to install the window for the door on our RPod. We have misplaced the screws. Amazon says they are stainless steel mounting screws but doesn't say what size. And no problem doing two portholes.. but the farthest from home has to get their hole cut first.. You know.. so they can get back on the road soonest... lol.
 
Pitched this idea to the DW last night and I was shot down again.  It seems we do not need the awesome fan with all the extras.  I'll remind her of that the next time she gets hot or cold in the middle of the night and wishes she could adjust the fan.
 
And the window apparently is not only not needed but allows unwanted viewing access when she gets out of the shower.  Ouch
 
And here I thought it was just adding some nice light and ambience to the Pod and a way to see who's knocking on my door before I unlock it.

I installed a porthole window in my Pod Door.  Make sure that you order a window of the correct thickness.  The Pod door consists of two thin aluminum sheets with a couple of inches of 'styrofoam' insulation between. I used a portable rechargeable jig saw with a fine-toothed saw for a clean cut. The cut has to be very perpendicular to the door to have a correct cut on both the inside and outside panels. My window did not come with installation putty...which I bought from a local RV dealer. Is there a privacy shade for the porthole    ...or is it always open ?

The porthole window is always open but it is tinted for privacy.  We have a piece of cloth strung across our door for privacy if someone is using the loo anyways, so we though we'd use that.

However the larger window looks good because there is the version that can open & close, but may require removing the current bugscreen and making a custom velcro one for the frame for inside access.

That's the exact same one, from the same vendor we got this summer. Smile  They had a sale on it in July.

I know   ...it's getting colder now and almost time to put the Pod up for the winter - - but this is when I tend to start thinking about mods, even more than I do during the Spring and Summer.

So, I'm wondering if anyone has successfully added a window to the door or totally replaced the door with another one that has a window ?
