Haha There are scammers out of Nigeria, believe it or not. They give you a certified check but then a few days later your bank says the check is no good and you are out of luck. The PayPal request is a new twist for them. Usually they give you a story like they are out on an oil rig and can't make it or they are in Kenya helping orphaned kids. Just be careful. Be careful on Craigslist especially if their grammar seems too perfect and they refer to what you are selling as an "item" Also if they say they can't make it but will send someone else with a certified check OR if they want your Paypal account information. I had someone reply to my Craigslist posting, they lowballed me so badly with their opening offer I almost blew up at them.  After replying - politely - that it was too low he replied with a slightly higher but still lowball offer.  This time I mentioned I was a member of a Rpod forum and knew how much other members were selling theirs for and he was still way low ... no reply since.  Tongue

Our 28 foot Wilderness had a twelve foot slide that really opened up the camper. When we sold it this summer, it was the main reason people bought it. To slide or not to slide is a big question.  We saw a longer version of the model we are now considering, with a slide, and it definitely opens the space up.  If we were retired and planning months-long trips or even full-timing then it would be an easier decision.

Wow Doug - I will miss your posts here when you sell the rPod.  I have my two cents though... my suggestion is that you look at the new campers in the 21 to 26 feet range BUT WITH a slide (or two).  I think you will still be wanting to make another decision later if you don't get one with slides... My humble opinion...

We started off with a big Class C with a slide,then we went to an aFrame camper, the Chalet, similar to the A Liners. I absolutely loved it. The only thing I don't like about it is how the bed is oriented (sideways) and the gray tank is a bit small.

It happens to the best of us LOL.  My RP173 wasn't the first or the last.  What I have now will probably not be the last.
 
Though mine is within inches of the Pod (lenght & width), it "feels" more spacious.  The "traditional" shape allowed for a dry bath and awning - both of which I wanted.
 
21' is  a good size - not that much bigger as to start to restrict your choice of campsites but, the "feel" and actual extra room make things more livable.

I wish someone would come out with a 20-22' fifth wheel (other than Scamp).

I never thought I would be posting my own add in this section.  We love our pod and I expected to keep it for a decade or two.  I still love its look and functionally it does everything we need it to in a nice small footprint.  However, with a bigger TV in the driveway I found myself browsing around to see what a few more feet of camper would get me.  After days of sorting through dozens of floor plans and hundreds of pictures I may have found one.  It isn't cool looking - we won't be getting requests for tours - but it will work.
 
So here goes.  Deep breath, a small sigh.  Cry
 
I will entertain offers for my 2010 Rpod 171.  Purchased in August of 2010, with approximately 3500 miles on it.  Includes all factory options (A/C, microwave, Dome), plus I added the risers and an outside shower.  The front and rear graphics have been removed since they peeled twice (the ones on the sides are still original).
