Yup... Had a mouse get in atthe campground last night.  Heard it rummaging around and finally opened the under sink cupboard to see it on the sink pipe.  Best we can figure it came inthroughthe slide out rubber seal (that appears to not be sealed)... Not a pleasant nights sleep as he came back for round two!

When I get more time I will search the forum for advice... Unless someone has some here?

Great responses!  We went with a mattress topper and then added a pice of wood to extend the back bench seat forward a bit.  Just it's morning we were able roll up the topper, strap it up and have breakfast for all four of us.  Worked great!  

Loving our garage!  Was able to listen to the Sounders game out the back yesterday!  I am able to hold all kinds of stuff back there... And will admit to being mesmerized by those blue lights last night!

Now to deal with the mice problem... Grrr!

They even have pics of a Pod garage.  I have the magnet rack, great for holding grill tools, knives, etc.  not cheap...but worth it to me.

Definitely suggest a mattress topper....bought a foam topper, love it.  Costco always has them.

I too keep a griddle in the "garage cooler" area, plus other kitchen stuff and grilling stuff.  I store my dish strainer and dish towels etc. in the sink when moving.  Baskets are full, I ordered more online for more stuff.  Love the garage area.  T.V. Reception usually sucks.  I download movies and programs to my iPad and watch stuff from that during rainy times.

I also have used small bungee cords and secure to the hanging wall baskets to hold in place plastic storage bins for longer outings...keeps them from sliding around.  I keep food, snacks etc, saves room....and I didnt want the storage bins sliding all around in the garage area.

Donna and I have a 4 inch dual foam firm mattres when not in use I roll it up and secure with 2 bungee cords, I leave them under the mattress when sleeping, your cant feel it I also made a folding 1/4 inch luan plywood (doubler) this goes between the foam and the exsisting cushions in the rear dinette area (172) its a little hassle about 2 or 3 minutes, to set up, we store the rolled up foam and the 1/4 doubler on the top bunk during the day, this leaves the lower for nap time. ohh p.s. First, welcome to the Forum.  We are new owners as well.
 
We intend to buy a 2" memory foam topper for the dinette/bunk, and just toss it onto the queen bed in our 177 when not in use. If not needed at night, it will get re-tossed onto the dinette table.

We have the 176T (pop out bed where your kitchen is) but we use a mattress topper, too. If it is just the 2 of you, could you fold/roll up and store the topper on the backside of the dinette on the long cushion; leaving the opposite sides of the dinette open for seating?

Just a thought.

Mattress topper?  How small can you get them to fold up? And, any difference in a 2" vs. a 2.5" or 3" as far as foldability goes?  We will generally eat outside and leave the dinette as a bed, but, alas, in Washington state, the rain drives us inside...

In our garage area, we use the far left side (opposite sink) to carry a small griddle, electric hot plate burner, and larger cooking utensils. In the middle cubbies, we keep spices in bottles and other smaller cooking items. We ordered 4 more medium baskets from Versa-Trac for the wall system, and put a paper towel holder on the right side wall. It's pretty well decked out for all our cooking needs.

We use the top bunk exclusively for storage of the mattress topper and all our dog stuff. Under the lower bunk, you can find extra storage on the left side, the area that is screwed down. I put hinges on that area, and we use it for lighter things, such as extra toilet paper, paper towels and regular towels.

  • small level
  • spare pressure regulator
  • firestarters
  • suction cups for the dome
  • straps for the dome
  • carabiners
  • bungee cords (little ones of course)

Trust me  you'll find plenty to put inside them!

Today we settled on the R-Pod 182G and we are so excited!  The most spontaneous decision I've ever made!  Going from tent camping (most of my life), to pretty bare bones tent trailer to the PodMonster.  

I'd love advice or input on storage (especially where and how to store the mattress topper I'm about to buy for the dinette) and what on earth people use the small cubbies in the garage counter for!
