Well, I don't think the instructions for the R-dome are all that clear!  But here is a short 1 1/2 minute video on YouTube that makes the setup perfectly clear.  Hope it helps!

I agree with the wash basin suggestion for washing dishes, we started doing that last year and it made the job much easier.

We are on our third day of our shakedown cruise.  Just picked up our new 171 on Thursday afternoon.  We have now gone from a 2 foot pile of "stuff" on the dining table to about only a foot.  Slowly rethinking where stuff should be stored.  Just enjoy the heck out of it and as was mentioned keep a tablet and pen handy to jot down all you still need to buy and any gripes you have with the operation of the trailer.   Never been to a Wal-Mart before but they seem to have all the things we forgot to buy.  One suggestion, since the kitchen sink has to perform double duty at night, would suggest you buy a plastic wash basin to wash your dishes in, and then use the sink to rinse.  Also, buy about 6 Command Hooks for hanging things.  Work great.  Any way, congrats and Safe Travels. ]]> Mon, 14 May 2012 09:57:36 +0000 http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2557&PID=24218#24218 Can't wait to go camping!! : Well the new trailer sure looks... http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2557&PID=24210#24210 Author: Lonnie

Take a notepad and ink pen with you, and each time you think, "Geez wouldn't it be nice if we had brought "x" with us, or I wish we had some of "y" it would make things so much easier."
 
My DW and I have camped for 15 years together now and are starting our second year podding.  Our legal pad that we carry with us is still one of the best things that we take with us.  You never know when you might think of something that can make your Podding more successful next time.
 
As an example, this past weekend we were relaxing under the R-Dome and our hats kept blowing off of our side tables.  I said wouldn't it be nice if we had 2 extra suction cups that we could stick to the Pod and hang our hats on so they wouldn't always be on the ground.
 
Next time out our hats have a new home and so do our dog's leashes!
 
Other than that, from our own experiences, always expect you'll leave at least one thing you wanted at home, and just have fun!
