I grew up on a farm and was driving and backing up a farm tractor at 9, pulling boats and utility trailers, but my next door neighbor showed me a trick. Put your hand on the bottom of the wheel, if you want the back of the pod to go right, move your hand to the right and vice versa, if I get rattled I remember my old friends tip, and it works every time.
