    I weighed the tongue with a bathroom scale and the weight was 298 lbs., we have the spare tire mounted up front which gives it a heavier tongue weight. The salesman at the dealership said the tongue weight for the Liberty was rated at 500lbs. But I would have to recheck my manual if that is true or not. But I do remember we were safe within the weight ratings when I did check every thing.  When I weighed the trailer and Jeep I unhitched the trailer.       This morning I went to the Pilot Travel Center near our home to get our Rpod 171 and 2010 Jeep Liberty weighed. The Rpod with our added mods and miscellaneous items ( Bal leveler, rdome, tools, dishes, cookware, air compressor, etc.) weighed 2,700 lbs. Our Liberty with no passengers and about 14 gallons of gasoline weighed 4,080 lbs.
