    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=1014" rel="nofollow">Camper Bob</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 2129<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 27 Sep 2011 at 1:19pm<br /><br />Thanks for the welcome.&nbsp; As I mentioned, I won't be taking delivery till next spring but will certainly mention how my "mods" are doing.&nbsp; Reread some of the suggestions and I went crazy on anticipation of ordering our rpod.&nbsp; Went to ebay and purchased some LED bulbs to replace the bulbs in the rpod.&nbsp; Seems to make a lot of sense to use low power LED's and get brighter light output.&nbsp; I was also thinking about replacing the jack up front with one that swivels and has a roller on it.&nbsp; Might be somewhat easier to "spot" our trailer in the location that it will be stored.&nbsp; ]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=1014" rel="nofollow">Camper Bob</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 2129<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 27 Sep 2011 at 9:04am<br /><br />I will be ordering a 2012 171 Hood River edition in the spring.&nbsp; This forum is a terrific&nbsp;resource for new pod owners.&nbsp; I&nbsp;have a few questions, however.&nbsp; I was wondering if anyone has had installed the heating strip that is an&nbsp;accessory for the A/C.&nbsp; Using it with full hookups seems to be another avenue to minimize propane usage.&nbsp; I realize this may not be&nbsp;totally adequate for winter camping but&nbsp;to take the chill&nbsp;off in the morning might be a useful addition.&nbsp; In reading the many posts on this forum I have made a list of useful mods to make when we take delivery.&nbsp; Also, has anyone had any concerns with the rather thin OEM mattress supplied.&nbsp; I am of average weight and in looking at a 171 at a dealers, I did lie down on the mattress.&nbsp; Not a lot of support.&nbsp; I have heard of adding memory foam to the top of the mattress, but I wonder if it sleeps rather "hot."&nbsp; The battery cutoff and a longer sewer pipe holder are on my addon list.&nbsp; I have also decided to add a second LP bottle and auto transfer switch.&nbsp; Not fun&nbsp;to&nbsp;run out of LP in the cool nights.&nbsp; Anyway, that all for now.&nbsp; Will have further questions as I continue to research.&nbsp; Thanks in advance for comments or suggestions.&nbsp;&nbsp;]]>
