Author: dsmiths
Subject: 2104
Posted: 19 Oct 2012 at 3:30pm

Your right Sean, I was worried they would poke a hole in the skin and then if improperly sealed water gets in, rot aaaahhh. they did a great job, it really worked out great due to the fact they run the wiring up the passengers (right) side under the half tube trim. This was perfect because this spring we had a nasty hail storm, some stones were as big as a lemon and one knocked a hole in the tube trim about 1/2 the way down the back, short term I split some foam backer rod in half, pushed that in the hole with about 1 inch overlap on both sides of the hole and then filled and smoothed white silcone. They replaced it as part of the recall so everything worked out right. They did a nice job of caulking the seam, tucking the wiring in, it looks factory, the only thing I will correct is they use self tapping screws to mount the fender lights and they stick inside the wheel well about 3/4 of an inch and are razor sharp, if you run your hand in there to wash the wheel well area it will lay your hand open. Thats an easy fix. Now we have a New looking Pod.
