That's a good one.  I've heard of this before too, I've seen pictures of dogs sitting on their masters grave sites unwilling to leave.  Loyal creatures indeed.  My pup definitely gets over-excited when I come home for the day, usually puts a smile on my face.  Now if only my wife would get that excited when I walked in the door...:).  Speaking of...I'll forward this thread to her.  That's a touching photo.

Loyal Labrador retriever Hawkeye refused to leave the side of his master, Petty Officer Jon Tumilson, even in death.

More than 1,000 people turned up to honour Mr Tumilson in his hometown of Rockford, Iowa, after he was one of 38 killed when a rocket-propelled grenade took out a U.S. Chinook helicopter in Afghanistan earlier this month.

The picture was taken by Mr Tumilson’s cousin, Lisa Pembleton.

NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams:

They didn't say where this happened exactly.  They had a picture of a Black Lab laying beside a casket.  The funeral was for a US Navy Seal killed in Afghanistan.  The dog walked down the isle between the rows of people, up to the casket and let out a large sigh and laid down.  He was with his owner.

That story really put a lump in my throat.  I just wanted to share that story with everyone.
