No, our camera isn't able to do the long exposure times needed to get a proper shot of the Moonbow unfortunately.  So those will just have to be mental pictures until we go back someday with a better camera.

 

Cumberland Falls campground is a really nice park.  Some have mentioned wanting to camp there in the past but had read reviews of the campground being really small and hard to navigate in and that the roads were bad.  Well let me elaborate for any interested to clear it up.

 

Bad roads - Peronally I didn't think they were bad at all.  They are pretty curvy, and hop up and down several hills while on the curves.  I wouldn't want to have arrived at night time before the first time ever driving on them, they seem a bit more iffy in the dark.  But after driving them for several days I don't think there is anything wrong with them at all.  Just the first time driving to see the Moonbow in the middle of the night was scary cause I didn't know what was over the next hill or around the next curve.

 

Campground - Yes it's small, but small in the sense that it doesn't accomdate large RV's.  You won't see any large Class A motorhomes here.  Popups and trailers slightly larger than Pods inhabited the campground most of our time there.  Several tenters were also around.  These sites are not able to have the Rdome set up, but not because of their size but because of the proximity of the firepits which are not moveable.  So unless you want a firepit in the dome with you I recommend bringing an Easy Up there.  All in all nice shady comfortably sized sites.  You'll definently make friends with all your neighbors though since they are close to each other.  We probably had the worst site in the whole park to try and back into but with a few trys we were in it and setting up camp in no time.

 

The Moonbow is quite a treat if you've never seen or heard of it before.  Definently something to see!  The falls themselves are gorgeous and there are many trails surrounding them that give you all kinds of different vantage points for viewing.  Many of the trails in the park lead to other waterfalls which are also some great viewing and worth the hikes.
