   <title>Glad to be camping again : We finally got a chance to do...</title>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=448" rel="nofollow">Brin</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 1862<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 05 Jun 2011 at 9:23pm<br /><br />We finally got a chance to do some camping this year.&nbsp;&nbsp; <DIV>We spend a few short days on the Shenandoah River outside Luray at Sweetwater RV Campsite.&nbsp; It is right on the river and only has two sites that have full hookups.&nbsp; We were there also on New Years but this time did have one neighbor.&nbsp;&nbsp; The weather was great and we were able to put the kayaks in the river 12 miles upstream and float right to our campsite.&nbsp;&nbsp; The only negative and it was somewhat of a big one was that the mosquitoes were SO bad that we could not stand to be outside for any length of time at the campsite.&nbsp; We did not set up the dome as we weren't there long enough to make it worth it.&nbsp; Next time I will have citronella candles and see it that helps --Neighbors had these and they were outside more.&nbsp; </DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Campsite</DIV><DIV><img src="http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad50/obxkykr/Luray%20and%20SNP%205%20to%206%202011/IMG_5128.jpg" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>View upriver from campsite</DIV><DIV><img src="http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad50/obxkykr/Luray%20and%20SNP%205%20to%206%202011/IMG_5122.jpg" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><DIV>View from Pod's door</DIV><DIV><img src="http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad50/obxkykr/Luray%20and%20SNP%205%20to%206%202011/IMG_5132.jpg" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><DIV>Also, we had an incredible 5 nights at Big Meadows Campground in Shenandoah National Park.&nbsp; We were fortunate to meet up with Leaflin and had a miniroundup.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It was great to meet such nice people.&nbsp; And I am still impressed with the wonderful portrait that she did of her dog.&nbsp; </DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Campsite F198.&nbsp; It is definitely in the shade but has great views of the visiting deer and an occasional visiting skunk who showed up on our last night and spooked Craig on the way back from the showers.&nbsp; </DIV></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><img src="http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad50/obxkykr/Luray%20and%20SNP%205%20to%206%202011/IMG_5204.jpg" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><DIV>View from the top of Little Stony Man trail </DIV><DIV><img src="http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad50/obxkykr/Luray%20and%20SNP%205%20to%206%202011/IMG_5224.jpg" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><DIV>Panzer cooling off in the falls on the way to Hoover Camp</DIV><DIV><img src="http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad50/obxkykr/Luray%20and%20SNP%205%20to%206%202011/IMG_5172.jpg" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><DIV>Thank goodness Panzer likes to hike and to pose for pictures on the top of Little Stony Man</DIV><DIV><img src="http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad50/obxkykr/Luray%20and%20SNP%205%20to%206%202011/IMG_5221.jpg" border="0" /></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><DIV>I wish I could carry this thought through the next few weeks.</DIV><DIV><img src="http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad50/obxkykr/Luray%20and%20SNP%205%20to%206%202011/IMG_5210.jpg" border="0" /></DIV></DIV></DIV></DIV></DIV></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>]]>
