I loved that line! Why do they always act like "dealer prep" is something the buyer should pay for? And what is "dealer prep" anyway? They can't sell it if it is dirty, so they got to clean it anyway. Yes, go through your dealer.  If you advertise on the net you might get ripped off.

I had my RV delivered from Hamilton, Ohio to MN also for $900 last year. Transport cost was about $1 per mile.  However, with the increase in fuel charges the cost probably has jumped considerably. (It appears that 'jayber' paid about $1.5 per mile this year).  Even with the delivery charges I saved a lot of money buying from Ohio and I didn't have to take time off from work (or vacation).  However, if I were buying now, I would have planned a vacation picking up the POD and taking our time coming home.
Couches RV arranged for the POD delivery, they contacted me when the unit left Ohio and when the truck was about 2 hours from my home.  The driver walked me through the unit to show me that everything was in good shape (more than I expected).

We had our's delivered from Ohio to CT and the dealer arranged the delivery. It cost us $900 and even with that we saved over 2 grand verses buying from a local dealer.  The only negative was not getting any description of how the various systems worked, this forum answered all of my questions though. Instead of going from Colorado to Ohio to pick up my new R-pod on my way out to the east coast, I would like to have the pod transported to me so I can do some mods before the trip.

Does anyone know of a reliable transport company or have any suggestions of how to find one other than googling them and requesting a hundred price quotes?

I was thinking of maybe posting an ad on craigslist both here and in Ohio to see if someone happened to be coming this way but also wondering if that's necessarily a good idea.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. Thank you in advance!
