Are you referring to the whole single piece of luan that fits over everything and lays under the mattress?
If so there must be screws or such that are in the way of it lying flat.  Move the mattress out of the way (no easy job doing that) and carefully look to see what is holding the luan up.

The first year I winterized my 177 was November 2011, I simply cut a 5" x 7" opening above the 3 valves so it is easy to lift up the corner of the mattress and turn the 3 valves, takes less than a minute to do that part.

I had a dealership winterize my 2017 177. They left the bed open and when I try to close it, it won't move. I felt the full length of cylinders for a release but didn't find any. That bag is what Forest River is putting in for "storage" and is found in the bathroom.  Unless you want to use the bathroom for, you know, bathroom types of duties you will find that it's in the worst possible place in the pod.  

We used it and hung on the bathroom door where there were some hooks.  It "worked" for us, but I noticed that the cardboard that's designed to be the shelf bent in the middle.  I'm thinking of getting some wire baskets and putting those on the bathroom door, but I'm curious as to the weight factor and how well I can keep it screwed to the door.  I want to have four or five baskets.  Two of the baskets would be used for our clothes--one for me and one for Louis.  A third basket would be for shower towels and washrags.  a fourth basket would be for dishwashing clothes and towels.  The fifth basket would be for food storage.

My fear is that would be a lot of weight for the door to handle.  Any thoughts from the engineers amongst us if my fear is founded or not, and if it is, how much weight do you think could be supported there?

In regard to underbed storage, here's a pic of a rolling laundry basket that fits under the bed.  I have 2.  I got them from Target, I think.

 
Just in case you're interested, here's a storage idea for inside the dinette bench.  I got the idea from another forum.  These are two 10-gallon plastic tubs with lids.  I got them from K-Mart.
 
 
Here's what they look like inside the bench.  Right now all I have in the bench are the 2 tubs, a couple of collapsible/folding crates, and an electric heater so I don't have to use the one under the bed.  You can't really tell from the picture but there really is room to pack some additional smaller things around the tubs.

We use 2 of these, mostly because we had spares. They fit perfectly under the bed. They probably came from Walmart. If we didn't have these, would probably buy covered tubs, but have not had any issues yet.
