Everything worked after I put new fuses in.  I was surprised that the fridge wouldn't when the battery went dead.  The battery charged up easily.

Sorry to hear about the problem Ouch.  Yep, the 12v stuff always runs on 12v.  When hooked to commercial power, the 12v is supplied by the power supply located behind the distibution panel (where the circuit breakers and fuses are).  When not hooked up, it comes from the battery.
 
You might want to do a simple test to make sure the power supply wasn't damaged in the reversed polarity.  Unhook the battery and then plug into 120v power and make sure the 12v stuff still works.  Hopefully the fuses did their job fast enough that no damage was done.  Even if the power supply is broke, the 12v stuff will still work off of the battery....until it runs down.

Considering that the daytime temps were close to 80* it was cold at 58*.

Did you know that if your 12v system goes out you loose: lights, fan, furnace and the fridge.  EVEN WHEN HOOKED UP TO 110v!  I found out the hard way. 

In the breaker box there are 2 large fuses.  These protect your system from hooking up the battery wrong.  I did!  Just a spit second and poof.  Both fuses went.  I forgot all about that until the lights started getting dim and the fan slowed down.  So I shut off the lights, fan and the TV amplifier thinking everything was shut off.  The furnace wouldn't come on (58*)!  Then I noticed the fridge shut off and wouldn't come back on. CRAP! 

No heat and I forgot to bring a pillow.  So I had to use my 1 and only blanket as a pillow.   No problem I went to sleep dressed...including my jacket!  In the morning I got new fuses and 2 extras!

But, I did have a good time camping and showing the Pod to people.Smile
