Author: CO_179er
Subject: 16485
Posted: 21 Aug 2026 at 4:00pm

Hi all, Newbie here, owner of a 2021 179.

Recently hooked up to city water, pressure regulated to <50 gpm, and found that it was spraying out pretty badly from behind the rotating screw-down cuff on the outside hookup.

It was also leaking on the inside, both into the space between outer and inner walls, as well as into the interior surface of the camper beneath the bed.

I removed the water hose, made sure the pump was turned off, dried everything off, and then checked for any moisture leaking from any connection points coming from the city connection to the other lines inside the camper. Nothing found.

So main question is - How challenging is it to remove the city hookup assembly to test and possibly replace it? Anyone here ever done that?

Alternately - Any other steps I could take to test if maybe the spray from the outside half of the hookup assembly was just a pressure relief thing, and I should actually be looking for line blockages or other issue elsewhere in the system?

Thanks for your input!
