I have this one from Walmart.  The elbow does fit in the stock sewer holder with my 10' hose.  I keep the cone in a ziplock bag in my rpod's passthru storage (and have never used).

Whatever you do, you don't want to insert/remove the elbow every time you use the dumpstation.  Its a tight fit and I usually end up sitting on the ground using both hands and both feet to attach the elbow to the sewer hose.

 

 

Good idea on the fridge doors, I think I'll add some safety cables to mine before our first trip.

 

 

I agree with Outbound, the cheaper hoses are just fine for routine dumping and even those can last for years. 

 

I like to keep on hand a good supply of the inexpensive rubber gloves (the kind that doctors and nurses use) and discard them after use.  I dump the black first, and then the grey (to kind of wash down the black).  I follow this with a good rinse of the hose, in and out, with the clean water supply that is always there.  Being considerate of the next camper, I rinse down the entire area to clean up any random drips that may occur.  Lastly, I put 2-3 gallons of water in the black tank, along with the chemical.  The "sloshing" of road travel helps keep the tank clean and eliminate odors.

Great Modification. I am planning on doing this one in the spring along with installing my axle risers and hopefully converting my two dumps to one, (spring is only one and a half weeks away and I look out the window and it is snowing......) Have been trying to locate the 6 inch post but not having much luck in Canada.

 

The only reason we bought a new one is because the cap came off the storage tube while we were underaway and the hose disappeared somewhere along I-75.

The stock sewer holder on an r-pod can handle a 10' sewer hose (although not a RhinoFLEX).  You do have to select your fittings carefully as the larger, bulkier ones won't fit in there.

If you'll just be using dump stations, then a 10' hose is fine.  If you plan on getting sites with a sewer hookup, you'll need 20' of sewer hose most of the time.

Here's my 10' sewer hose with bayonet fitting at one end and elbow fitting at the other.  Note that the bayonet fitting was the lightest, most bulk-free fitting I could find.  I recommend buying an elbow fitting too; its easier to hook onto the dumpstation's drain and keep it in place while the brown trout swim downstream.

The bayonet has two thumb tabs on either side to make it easier to screw on/off the connector to the trailer.  Unfortunately, on my 2009 RP171, the bayonet wouldn't quite fit in the stock holder.  So, I carefully sawed off the tab on the left.
