Author: Ericjump
Subject: 16235
Posted: 06 Aug 2026 at 9:14am

I just replaced my axle, Lipper (original axle manufacturer) has a 10 year warranty (but only if you are the original owner)! I sourced purchased and installed a new axle (the problem was the tire was hitting the fender. After getting some bad advice I replaced the axle. It turns out that same problem with new axle. The REAL problem was not the axle but that the wall outside the frame rails was sagging. The fix was to install supports under the outside wall (Slideout side) and move the fender up about an inch. Therefore I now have used (8 years and very little use) Lippert axle, and brakes for sale! New one cost me $1100.00 will sell used one for $500.00.
I still have the pallets the new one came on and will ship (Split the shipping cost with you. Let me know if you are interested...Ericjump@aol.com

If it's 1 inch out, I'd say you need to replace it. It is a risk with the cantilevered axle to get bent on hard bumps. The solution is to reinforce it. There are numerous threads on this forum for how different folks have dealt with the problem.
