We cook almost all of our meals in our 179. However, we remove the smoke detector before cooking as it will almost always go off during the process.  We also usually open the door immediately  next to the cooktop and turn on the fan in the bathroom.

We remove the battery from the detector when cooking if necessary.  Although the majority of our cooking is done on a charcoal grill (outside) a fair amount is still done inside but doesn't generate enough smoke to set detector off such as eggs, onions, veggies, beans, and the like.  Keep the window by the stove open a bit (177) and running the FF in the bathroom helps immensely.]]> Sun, 20 Apr 2025 20:07:33 +0000 http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=16168&PID=154456#154456 Cooking in the RPod : Help here will be much appreciated. Do y'all do real cooking in your R-Pod? We don't believe there is any vent to the outside for the propane cook top . Even boiling water sometimes sets off the smoke alarm.
