Author: offgrid
Subject: 15602
Posted: 11 Feb 2023 at 5:42am

+2 Welcome.

Don't feel like you missed out on anything by not getting a users manual, there really isn't one with the kind of information you'd expect. Forest River would have to leave the product design alone for long enough to make it worthwhile putting together a manual, which they don't do. In reality the trailers themselves are pretty simple, its the appliances that you'll need manuals for, and you can find those on line.

One thing you should do as soon as possible with a ten year of trailer is reseal everything. After that length of time the original sealants will have hardened up and no longer be reliable, The last thing you want to have is water leaks, that can destroy a travel trailer very quickly,

Also if you haven;t already done so check for water getting into any concealed areas you can reach, A wood moisture meter (about $35 on Amazon) is useful for this. It has a couple pin probes that you poke into the wood so it can measure the electrical resistance of the piece. The lower the resistance the wetter the wood is. If you find any wet areas get some heat on there to get it dried out ASAP. You've had a wet winter in CA so unless the trailer has been covered now would be a good time to check.

I'm a bit puzzled why you would need to extend the wiring to bring the camera transmitter closer, a wifi signal should easily reach from the front of your tow vehicle to the rear of your trailer.
