We finally had to hire an electrician...! turns out it wasn't the fuse but we now know where the fuse is. So the fuse for the Awning on an Rpod 192 is located in the main breaker box near the floor under the fridge. It is the 5th 12 volt fuse in the vertical line of fuses on the right side. Turns out it was a few wires that were shorting out. All fixed now.

Annette and Gary

    Author: offgrid
Subject: 15596
Posted: 02 Feb 2023 at 5:19am

I don't know where FR might have hidden that fuse either. One likely thing is that they ran out of space in the DC fuse panel and added an inline fuse for the awning behind the panel. But sadly it could be anywhere.

It might be easier to troubleshoot your problem if you use your multimeter to check if you have 12V to the awning switch, since you already have access to that.

If you don't have a multimeter get one, this won't be the only time you'll need it.

If no power to the switch then you're right that it's probably a fuse and you know its located between the switch and wherever upstream that wire is connected into your 12V supply. The fuse is supposed to be at the upstream end of that wire, which might be connected somewhere else than the DC panel.

If youre getting power to the switch but not out of the switch when you turn it on then it's the switch. This wouldnt be the first switch failure.

If you are getting power out of the switch then likely its the awning motor itself or it's connectors.

Good luck!
