The outside light works with the switch that's on the light. The switch for the bathroom light is to the left of the door. I have 48 years in aircraft maintenance and repair. I believe I know how to change a light bulb. I am coming to understand that these campers are built one at a time and are wired differently.

That falls under the rule, "Let no to 'Pods be built the same." Mine is similar to the picture with some variation on relative height of the switches. Odd. The switch on our 2016 179 for the outside light is black, with an oversized, unlabeled, cover plate. Agreed. It is the outside light switch. It is for the outside light.  If light fails to turn on then you will have to replace the bulb.  Easy fix, take a flat screwdriver and carefully insert at the bottom of the fixture, slight twist and lens will pop off.

I would think it is the switch for the outside light
