My worst experience was pulling into a narrow lot thinking that there would be a connecting road that would allow us to go out. It took many minutes of minutes of back and forth to be able to turn around in that lot without running into buildings, trees, other cars, etc. It was not quite miraculous that we got out of that unscathed, but it was close.

We recently bought our 180.  I had a 16 Scamp that followed the TV perfectly.  This is taking some getting used to with the necessary wide turns.  But we can stand up staight and stretch out in the bed and bath!  Totally worth it!

The day we picked up our Rpod, I was immediately not happy with the trailer brake controller (TBC) that the RV dealer had installed. It was screwed to a bracket that bumped my right knee. We had let them install it, as they had promoted it as being "plug-n-play". We assumed (incorrectly) that it was the OEM TBC from Ford. It was not.

As there was a Ford dealer just a few blocks from the Rpod dealer, we decided to pull into the Ford dealer parking lot and see if we could just pick up a TBC from them.

What we had not anticipated was that the Ford dealer parking lot was JAMMED and NARROW! Oh my! I feel happy that we got out of that lot without banging anything up.

We've been fortunate to never get in a situation like that, although we have been boxed in by folks who fill up then go inside the convenience store do a weeks worth of shopping and use the restroom. Yeah, it's really not designed for trailers.  It's a good thing my wife and I are chill, or it would be quickie divorce time in Reno!  (after 30+ years!)

That's a bummer!

When I was towing my Rpod back home from where we bought it, I turned too sharply getting out of a gas station bay in a crowded, cramped tourist trap (Death Valley Fruit & Nut, Beatty, Nevada.  I didn't hit anything, but came very close to the roof pillars (single-digit millimeters!).  Very little room to back up or pull forward.  After about a dozen back-and-forths, I was able to pull out with no damage, except to my pride and stress to impatient tourists.

Sounds like me at a concrete island at a gas pump. I straightened the fender as best I could. There was some yellow paint on the water heater access hatch and at the strip on the bottom of the trailer as well. I just got home two days ago from my big around the country road trip.  The following is a breakdown of costs and stuff.

Total days on the road 87
Total miles driven 19,024
Total dollars spent $20,201.03
Total gas cost $5,821.57
Total camping costs $6,975.18
Total miscellaneous $3,496.37
Total accident pay out $3,907.94
Total cost per day $232.20
Total cost per mile $1.06
Total countries visited 2
Total Canadian provinces visited 8
Total states visited 23.

I had allocated $20,000 for this trip and I was almost on the money.  So all in all it was a great adventure and I am really glad I was able to do it.

I have three more road trips in mind, one to visit the remaining 27 states I didn't get to this trip, one to go back up into British Columbia and go to Williams Lake, Bella Colla, and Vancouver island, one just a short 4 or 5 day trip down to Visalia, CA and across Sherman Pass (the only pass over the Sierra's I haven't been over) to Coso Jct. on hyw 395.  This is the way my great grandfather traveled in the late 1800s to mine gold on what is now China Lake Laval Weapons station.  Hopefully I will be able to do all three.
