Down thread a nice forum member posted a more accessible image. Mine was very easy, inexpensive and I've been happy wiht it when I don't want to bother with the Rdome.

I'm traveling so sewing the keder strip isn't possible. I'm using heavy duty suction cups, adjustable poles and a "sail shade" all from Amazon for about &75. It's working really well. Maybe this link will show it off:

https://twitter.com/julieingersoll/status/1500942653935931394?s=20&t=6fpeHaN1-4Ho8BIxpkGHUg

R Pod Awning : First off, the 2012 RPod was not...

    Author: StephenH
Subject: 15315
Posted: 08 Jun 2022 at 10:14pm

First off, the 2012 RPod was not made to mount an awning. There were changes in the framing to allow for the awning that your 2012 model does not have. That being said, there are some alternatives. Early on, I made an awning for our 2016 RP179 (before it went to the factory for repair that involved replacing the side with the reinforced side). Purchase some Keder insert (Look on Amazon) and get some vinyl coated material. Use an industrial grade sewing machine to sew it to the Keder insert. Purchase some extending tent poles and put some grommets in the outer edge of your awning. It won't be quite as convenient as an automatic or even manual crank-out awning, but it might suit you better than the R-Dome. See my mods for my homemade awning (link in signature).
