Met 3 other folks that were looking to do just that. Guess you have to reserve a spot weeks ahead now. One couple was coming back through in a few weeks to do it.

We thought f doing the same, yet as we started heading back the weather turned nasty for the entire south.. We came home just ahead of the mess. In fact came back to no snow in NH, but in time to catch a 14" drop!! As fate would have it, I had to use the snowblower this season..

Next time you're out there be sure to tour the telescopes in Ft. Davis, TX.  Used to they let you look through the big one on Tuesday nights.

I will have to return to this area at some point! Amstead National Recreation Area looks like it deserves some time exploring!!
