+1 +2 Indeed we have experienced similar under high humidity conditions. Best way we have combated that is minimal door opening, when door is open know what you need and quickly close door again, making sure seal is sealing all the way around door - when door is closed can you stick a sheet of paper under the seal and slide it in and out anywhere around the perimeter of the seal and lastly, hearing the click of the door when you close it.

We don't have any evaporator fans inside our fridge nevertheless it is problematic when you are in high humidity situations. After 10 years of using our Dometic RM 8501 the issue of frost buildup on the fins starts after 6 or 7 days on the road, never before.

Check your refrigerator seal to make sure it is sealing tight. Frost build-up is not unusual. Fast frost build-up would indicate humidity is getting in there. I don't think you need a separate fan on the freezer fins. Yes, the frost will act as an insulator so the evaporator will have to get a bit colder in order to pull an equal amount of heat out of the fridge. Also condensing and freezing water takes a lot of energy while not lowering the temperature. Took out our Rpod 178 this week in Iowa. It was really hot; low 90's with 70 - 80% humidity. I have removed the freezer section on my frig.. It kept below 40 degrees until today. I have an evaporator fan on the lower fins (normally in the frig. section) but not on the freezer fins. I noticed that by today I was getting frost build up on the freezer fins but not on the refrig. fins. Does the frost buildup hamper the cooling of the refrig.? Would it be more beneficial to move the evaporator fans to the freezer fins, or would the lower fins just frost up? Would it be beneficial to just add a circulating fan to the frig. portion maybe instead of the evaporator fan? Lastly, just put the freezer portion back? Thanks for everyone's imput.
