Reinstalling Escape Window : Hello all. We made it from Tampa,...

    Author: alandlearned
Subject: 14783
Posted: 06 Jul 2021 at 3:33pm

Hello all. We made it from Tampa, Florida to Lacey, Washington with only one issue. My wife asked me to remove the escape window so she could install an air conditioner since we were parked at her sister's place somewhat nearby who didn't have a 30 amp outlet. It came off readily but the issue is reinstalling it. I see it seems to clamp onto a track but it refuses to allow me to reattach the window on to the track. Sliding it on would be the best way to do this from my perspective but the track curves around the window. Apart from having a very VERY busy RV repair service do the work, my thought is that the clamping tracks could be FORCED by means of a sturdy piece of 2 x 4 and a 16 lb hammer. I pray someone has had some experience with this issue. Thanx!
