If I were you I wound call and check. If your Toyota does NOT have a trans fluid dip stick, it will have a temperature sensor, it's how Toyota changes the fluid that needs to be done at a set temp. If you haven't replaced your small trans cooler with a larger one, it would be a good idea.

I definitely want that. I was reading that my specific model (07 Prerunner) may not report the code, therefore, no scanner will be able to report it. It plugs into the OBD2 port used for reading codes. The scanner that was being discussed monitored engine and transmission temps, RPMs, engine temps... I'm a newbie, but they were discussing a piece of equipment that will let you know, among many things, how the engine is doing as you trudge along up and down hills. Can someone help me with this piece of equipment? I thought it was called "something Gen 2" or something like that, but what are you using to monitor pressures and temps on the TV?

I need to add a trans and oil cooler to my 07 Taco to get it tow ready and I want to get a baseline before I add these, and then be able to monitor as I'm towing my 179.

Any help appreciated!
