They also come in handy to hold down the skirt of the dome with the added height of the risers.  We have also used firewood pieces strategically placed to keep the skirt in place in hard packed soil or asphalt.]]>

When there is a paved pad and the ground slopes away from the pad the Dome doesn't fit very well. Useable, but looks like you might have been inebriated when putting it up. Not a bad idea now that I mention it.]]>

No problem except the front & back corners where the Dome meets the trailer it's a bit high but after research and talking to the mfg, I came to understand that the dome was actually designed for pop-ups and not specifically the R-Pod. It doesn't cause any problem on set up and we really love our Dome.]]>

Haven't taken the tent out of the bag yet, but I just ordered axle risers put in today.  Now I begin to wonder...will the raised pod make the tent too short so that it doesn't fit well.  <br /><br />Anyone have the tent and risers? I think it just a CYA. I love my risers. Not as attractive as I'd like but the hassle free in/out of the driveway and other uneven surfaces is absolutely worth it!]]>

I am handy with tools, will try to install them when i have the rpod on my property in march, i will take some pictures to post them and if i screw up something. I dont have a impact wrench, so i am not sure how long before i can break the factory bolt...i am assuming loctite should go back on the bolt when putting it back together?]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=975" rel="nofollow">Tidalwave4455</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 147<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 24 Jan 2012 at 6:14pm<br /><br />You need to have the tools to break loose the factory bolt.&nbsp; Either an extension for your heavy duty socket wrench or a pneumatic impact wrench (which I used).&nbsp; I also made sure that I had a hydraulic jack and a couple of jack stands to safely hold the Pod up.&nbsp; I am not a mechanic...but it only took me about 1/2 hour to install the risers and then a few minutes to put the wheels back on.<br>Having sturdy enough tools makes all the difference in the world.<br>]]>

The $100 looked like a really good deal after about 2.5 hours on my back with blood running down my sleeve from busted nuckels. But then again I have the satisfaction of having done it myself. If you farm it out, then figure 3/4 to 1 1/2 hours of shop time. I know, but for shoulder surgery, I would have done ours, and I'm no mechanic.<div></div>Incidently,&nbsp;the dealer we purchased our Pod from beat your dealer. They would have done the job for $400.&nbsp;&nbsp;]]>

What a difference, I now have peace of mind about that issue.  worth the $200 for the peace of mind. A local indy RV shop installed them for about $120. So, the total with tax was a little over $200. Self installation looked to be pretty easy, and I would have tried it myself except for some physical limitations.<div></div> We had peeled off one of the rear stabilizer jacks just pulling into a gas station, and without risers our Pod was too low for many national park sites, let alone much boondocking. The standard Rpods have much less ground clearance than any other trailer we've owned.]]>
