    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.rpod-owners.com/member_profile.asp?PF=1146" rel="nofollow">jato</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 14658<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 23 May 2021 at 5:52pm<br /><br /><div>What you have is a cotter pin that runs through the axle; it purpose is to hold the castle nut in place which keeps the wheel and bearings tensioned properly.&nbsp; You will need either needle nose pliars or sidecut pliars to remove and replace with a new one.</div><div><br></div><div>Better make sure there is a cotter pin on the other side as well as castle nuts normally don't come as a 'nylock.'&nbsp; Without the cotter pin holding the castle nut in place the wheel could eventually fall off the axle . .&nbsp; . not good.<br></div>]]>

Appears to be a clip of some sort. it moves fairly easily side to side but is connected to something.&nbsp; I didn't see anything like this the other side,so I'm not sure what to make of it.&nbsp; Appreciate any thoughts.&nbsp; <img src="uploads/8538/Bearings.jpg" height="1440" width="1080" border="0" /><br>]]>
